    Hey Everyone-

I am curious, for those of you who own the Nitto Ridge Grappler, what type of mileage are you getting? I just ordered mine today and and want to know what I can expect.

It'd be helpful if you told those that have em what size you ordered. Just so they can give an accurate comparison.

After changing tire size from stock, you won't be able to trust your speedometer, your odometer, or your mileage meter, unless you install a calibrator. Going to a larger tire size effectively changes your final gear ratio, which throws off the speedometer.

All that said, I'm running aggressive 285/65R20s with a 3.5" lift. My mileage (corrected) on my '08 went from 15.1 to 14.7.

(obligatory pun) Your mileage may vary.

The difference in the tires is so minimal that I cannot imagine it being noticeable.

My stock tires are 31.9x10.8r20 and my Grapplers are 32.8x11.6r20. I lose overall revolutions with the Grapplers so if I was going 35 on my stock tires I will be around 34.62 on my Grapplers.

    UPDATE:

So I installed Ridge Grapplers (275/70R18) with my new wheel purchase back in November 2017 with 35,000 miles on my SR5 CM. Today I have a little over 81,000 miles (46,000 miles on the tires) and still a good amount of tread remaining. For the past few months they have been getting really loud and the wet weather traction is not good at all. Would I buy another set, yes BUT open to other options, maybe Duratracs or something else that has the aggressive sidewall look with low road noise.

Road noise increases as tread wears down, as does the ability to wick away water. I'm not sure why you'd be getting less traction tho unless there were a lot of soaps and chemicals in the road that were brought up in the rains.

That is impressive tread life. How often were you rotating these?

I was the car biz for years and know the stages of tire wear as they age. I was just making the review that the noise has come on within the past few months. For most of their life they have been a pretty quiet tire for the aggressive look they have. You are correct that the less traction would be the less tread but I also add that the tires themselves are maybe getting a bit harder with age. Truck tires are already a lot harder of a compound then a Summer performance tire for a car. I've owned and raced BMWs for years went through A LOT of tires, performance, all season, R comps for racing.

Only been offroad a few time sad to say. The few times I did were in pretty muddy conditions and they did great. They self clear pretty well. They also have been a good snow tire, though I'm East Coast Mid-Atlantic so no "real snow". Currently I have no lift/level but I have a set of 5100s that I have yet to install for over a year :( ..... Life has been too damm busy.

Surprisingly I didn't rotate them as much as I would have liked to. I think I did it maybe 3-4 times??

Like I said, I have had a pretty good over all experience and 45,000+ miles is pretty good wear. I might buy another set but always looking and reading.

On my old truck (2007 Dlb Cab Tundra) I ran 275/65R20s Nitto Terra Grappers G2's for 72 thousand miles and regular rotations. I bought the same exact tires and with regular rotation (every 10,000 miles) I had them for another 78 thousand miles. I got the another set and already have 72 thousand miles on them with good thread. Very happy with these tires. no complaints on me. Truck has 278 thousand miles and running strong,

I run 285/70/18's. You will like them. They are a very popular seller.

Do you have any other views of those tires? That is the size I am looking into.

It could be me but it looks like they’re cupping on the outside edge. That can and will increase road noise. I wouldn’t be surprised they’re doing that especially if you’ve only rotated 3 or 4 times in 45k miles.
