    I call it CRAPPLE!

My worst job, hands down, was working for UPS as a package loader. I did it for a summer in college... Absolutely BRUTAL. The conveyor never stops!!!! And the supervisor keeps throwing in bogus packages to see if you're reading every zip code. On my last day, he kept throwing in wrong boxes... I made sure they all made it on the wrong truck and buried deep in the pile. When he told me I missed a bunch and needed to get them out , I said good luck and left. (I had a perfect record and never loaded a wrong package before).

I had a friend in Portland, Orygun do that same job for UPS. He stuck with it, moved up to driver, and then supervisor. Worked there for almost 30ys. Several years ago there was a stock split and he got check for close to $300K!

It was great money, even at the grunt level. But I just had a DICK for a supervisor, and that made everything that much worse. I was actually asked to come back with a promotion, but I said no thanks.

Any job in a cubicle, or one that requires 95% desk time.

Kindergarten teacher, or any kind of teacher for that matter.

Being a waiter in a restaurant.

    Customer service.

Any job that requires daily meetings and constant interaction with other people.

    Being in a management position.

I hated work throughout my entire career. I never found a job that I enjoyed. I just had to find a job I could tolerate, and that was the best I could hope for.

Hospital cleaner, not only are they are exposed to feces/urine and other nasty bodily fluids every day, some of it has antibiotic resistant bacteria and killer viruses. They clean isolation rooms and when patients die of those diseases. They steam rooms with bed bugs and highly contagious scabies, etc. At least other hospital staff have mixed assignments that change day to day.

I've seen that behaviour at the store. That is a perpetual grouch, imagine navigating through life and always trying to obtain things by being an asshole and complaining. What would happen there is an Apple manager will come up and firmly tell him it's physical damage, give the price for screen replacement, take it or leave it.

I recently took in an older iMac to be repaired and they put the wrong logic board in it, not the one with the upgraded CPU I originally bought. I had to drive back and we don't have an Apple store in our city, I was already bummed it was a pricey repair. Afterward I felt this shouldn't happen to someone else and called to explain that they should always look up the original bill of sale when replacing parts. I wasn't expecting anything, I was polite, my tone was happy, made jokes and to my surprise the guy said what would you like for your trouble, go on the website. I was confused and said like a phone cable? He goes, headphones, whatever in the accessories section. I didn't need anything and thought, hey, my wife could use some Earpods for her business calls. He says those are excluded but he'll see what he can do. 2 days later, brand new wireless charging Earpods in my mailbox.

    Veterinarian. Emergency doctor.

The hours are brutal, cases are almost always referrals from general practice vets that 80% of which, should not be in medicine.

Highly complex medical cases where the patient can’t talk to you makes it tricky, clients are emotional train wrecks when they just euthanized the family dog/cat and looking for someone to blame. (Never themselves...) Or the sweet old lady who has to put down her dead husbands dog because it has horrible cancer. Sitting alone in a quiet room at midnight grieving for the only memory of her spouse and companion she has left.
Or the best is when people show up at 3am wanting to euthanize their dog for being too “Barky”.

All those and more lead to compassion fatigue and rapid burn out.

Oh! Almost forgot, most vets have $300k+ in school loans and make a fraction of what human Dr’s earn.

My wife is an ER vet...

I could never be one of those scamming telemarketers or guys that pretend they are the IRS to get people to give up their information. How did those bastards sleep at night? Basically any job where they tell you to get as much out of somebody as you possibly can.

Roto-rooter comes to mind. I’ve heard they basically encourage their guys to upsell and get as much as humanly possible out of someone. Usually an old lady. I was on a job once, speaking with some dude from roto-rooter. He was bragging to me about how he sold a simple clean out to the old lady for five grand. Then sold her a liner after he did his “free camera inspection“ for another 15. I despise that man. Cocky little shit. I had to bite my tongue, we were there to watch and install of a sewer lining, for training. This was probably over 12 years ago, I can still remember his stupid face. About 5 foot 8 and totally on steroids. Liked to brag about fighting, and even asked me if I wanted to roll. I’m a big boy but not professionally trained. He would’ve mopped the floor with me. He’s one of the few that I wouldn’t of felt bad about a sucker punch after a bottle of tequila.

I would do it right now and three times a day for $20k USD each time. After the first 30ft of a fall, it don't matter. Just more time to figure out how to fly. Maybe even phone the loved one.
