It's on my list to remove the tow hooks, put in a piece of 1/2 inch x 4 inch flat stock across with a 2 inch receiver welded to it and put the hooks back on (if I recall it'll need a shim or two) . Figured it out last year but haven't done it yet. Trying to keep it back under the bumper and as high as possible for clearance.
Worked many years ago on my 81 F*rd. Used my 8,000 lb winch front and back.

    Receiver hitch idea sounds cool

When I removed my tow hooks the frame had no paint and some rust( truck 6 months old)were hooks mounted- factory must install hooks before painting frame BULLSHIT!!

I used black rustoleum spray paint to cover frame before remounting hooks

Got a reply from elevated suspension. He is in the process of moving and the shop and fab is closed until he finishes his move and then reopens the shop up

Yes but I don't want a winch full time on my truck. Plus I want to be able to move the winch to the back. Plus I have other 2" receiver uses for other things besides a winch. This truck gets more work than it does off road play.

Have you heard back from him? I've tried looking him up but the link is dead and no elevated suspension is coming up

I’ve only gotten in touch with him via email. I imagine he is going through some life stuff. So I just ordered the ami 88721 shackle mounts. Took me awhile to find someone with them but they are on the way 5402573D-B4F9-4652-860A-A37CD0299E18.jpg

Being married for that amount of time is difficult to fathom. Kind of like my grandparents having their 74th wedding anniversary a few months back. I cannot even imagine...

They are 3/4” shackles with the 7/8” pin. Standard d ring. I was looking at the demon hook ones but man that’s pricey for them. So ima get some great America d ring shackles to replace these. The ones I have now have a 41k break strength

I didnt soak mine in on or wd40 and they came out just fine. But if you’re worried I’d just spray wd40 on them and on the top of them and then it’ll soak long enough it will get rid of the rust for ya enough to get them off all nice and clean.
