    LOL. It's a long drive north... ;)

The rattlecan stuff is great for some applications. I really like it for redoing the racks on quads for instance. But I think it's worth paying for the professionals on these sliders. Just a more even, thicker coating. Pretty happy with how mine turned out, tho I may have to be sanding and priming some spots for the install. We shall see....

If you plan on actually using the sliders offroad, don't get them Line-X'd. It's a huge waste of money and powdercoated sliders are easier to fix with rattlecan jobs after you scratch the sliders on rocks.

IME, it depends where you live and how you use the truck in the 'powder coat vs. Linex' decision.

Powder coating isn't that much cheaper and just isn't durable enough up here, north of the 49th. Our winter roads get covered in salt and gravel and have it chipped and rusting pretty quickly.

We've patched both options no problem.

Gotcha. Ocassional offroad, I have to drive a fair piece to gain access to the gnarly stuff. They are pretty brutal with salt here. Sounds like line-x is my option.

Talking to my best pal who paints for a living likes a combo of primer and rattlecan.
I have POR15 paint and rattlecan top coat inbound plus a tyvek suit, respirator and eye protection.
I have used this before and it is rock solid.

Now I have to get a bunch of »©%%?£ Out of the garage and hang the sliders from the rafters ;)

I can't tell anyone how to spend their hard earned long green. If what you want is a real slider not just for show these are about the right price.

We will have a set of these powdercoated at the Offroad Expo this coming weekend in Pomona, CA along with our bolt on Tundra Bumper.

I can help you out also, I think Cliff is mainly going to be doing Tacoma World. I won't have any powdercoated bumpers at the show though.

Not powdercoated. We have them in stock raw, but powdercoat is usually a 2 week process.

I'm on it finally. First coat of POR15 going on now. FWIIW coverage with the POR15 is very good. Started with water based degreaser than POR15 base and will finish with POR15 Top coat (rattle can).
    Don't forget protection ;)

That was easy. In process report since I'm watching paint dry. One can of POR15 Gloss Top Coat goes a long way. I managed to empty one can on the slider, two will be more than enough. Gotta say POR does not cheap out on the product. Fingers crossed, it's 4:30 here and sunlight is hitting my project so I think I'm good for the one coat and second tomorrow after the humidity drops. Looks like it will take me 4 days to paint these...ouch.

*Full tyvek suit with respirator and goggles yo.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
Installed mine alone and I am 61 with a fused back and a full knee replacement. Sure, a helping hand would have been nice, but when I drink alone I prefer to be by myself.

It is do-able as a one man job, but if possible grab a friend and 12 pack! It cuts the time in half!

Finally got time to install mine! Went pretty well, SDHQ has these things bang on, the additional thickness of the Linex was all that slowed me down. Definitely a snug, snug fit.

Very impressed by the instructions and how well everything lined up. Awesome product guys!

    Pics to follow...

    Love these things!

Clean, low profile, lightweight, should offer great off-road protection, and my wife likes that they are actually a very functional step.

Wrongside, I see you also have a 16'. Did you have to bend the rear frame rail supports/gusset outwards in order to install the frame bolts (both sides)? Agree, the fitment is fantastic and love the look/function/welding etc. etc. I really think the gas tank needs to be loosened a smidge in order to install the rear rail brackets. I'll have pics. tomorrow.
Tip - Consider using a glob of hot glue to hold the front inserts (look like dog bones;) ) in place since there is not way to hold one of them in place once the rail is raised into place and trying to thread a bolt into a moving metal plate is difficult.
PS - NOT a one man job. But I did take the bait ;)
