About to get bed liner sprayed tomorrow. How high did y'all go? Just the interior of the bed or did you go outside of the bed to where the plastic runners are?

I left the plastic runners on in just had them go all the way under the lip. Although if done right it wouldn’t be a bad idea to remove the plastic top and have them spray the top of the bed rail. Then reinstall the plastic caps. But that’s probably overkill.

I wouldn't put the caps back on if I went that high. I just saw this picture and it made me start to wonder. And that sucks they rushed it. Overall are you happy with it?

I didn’t have my accessory rails on when I got it sprayed. But I would’ve made them take it off before they sprayed. I do think the caps would go back on as they are only held on buy some arrow shaped snaps. Nothing a little clearancing wouldn’t take care of. I actually took mine off and silicone them back down because I didn’t like how they shifted.

You don’t have to put the caps back on but there are holes that are used to snap the caps on that would look funny without them.

Good point. I didn't like the exposed holes that I saw on some of them.

My guys were pretty great. They did get a little overspray on my cab but it came right off because I had a fresh coat of wax on. They even removed my bed bolts and tiedown points. They did forget to tighten the bed bolts enough but I took care of that myself.

If I lay down and look under the rail I can see a few holidays in the spray, but it’s no big deal as I’m sure it would be hard to get those spots and they will never see any abuse up under the rails.

I have Toyota factory spray liner. Very happy nice clean edge every where. Looks like they sprayed before my rails because it ends just under the rails> Nice clean edge all around. Wouldn't be possible if rails were there! Plus I they embossed the name.

If you care about your painted tie-down hoops inside the tailgate, take them out before you go; otherwise Line-X will use a compressor drill and F' them up (wish I'd known).

Also, let them know about the plastic covers on the oval cut outs at the front of the bed-- whether to Line-X or not. Same with the bed bolts. Anything you don't specify, expect the installer to handle whichever way is most expedient.

Mine was factory or port sprayed, maybe even locally by dealer. All in all whoever did it applied it nice and even and it looks great. However, while installing my tonneau cover I noticed that the rails went in before the spray and there was no spray under the rails, disappointing at best. Since I had to lower the rails to install the cover, I just went to Home Depot and bought some "bed liner spray" in a rattle can, did the job it needed to and overall everything looks fine.

I read some where in the description that the liner is applied in the factory while the truck is being made. Also mentions that you get Toyotas quality, and even application, if you get the liner.

Well Toyota needs to do the bottom of the bed as well then . That's where the bed rust issue starts .

Never heard of that. It’s usually done at the port, or once at the dealer it will be sent out to a private shop.

Mine is LineX up to the underside of the top lip. When you get yours done, make sure that they take the panel on the inside of the tailgate off and do that separately. If they don't it will be a bear to get off if you ever need to and it will mess up the finish of the spray-on liner when you do get it off.

Pay for it through the dealer it can come with Toyota bossed in the front. Been that way for a while. But I have never ever heard of it being done while it’s being assembled. Like I said it’s either done at the port or private shop. Of course you can order it through the catalog but that doesn’t mean it’s done at the factory. They farm it out. But it really doesn’t matter. Your dealer is blowing smoke up your ass.

I got the bed liner through the dealership here in Houston, and they outsourced it to private shop at a discount. Paid $330 flat.

I believe my Line-X tech was high when he sprayed mine, sloppy enough to cause a $250 discount.

yep. the line-x shop that did mine was also doing the new trucks for the local Toyota dealership. With a big markup from the dealership off course :) for the same work as mine.

So this is the first bed liner I've had. Are you able to get your truck waxed like normal at a car wash with a bed liner or no?
