We have been busy at RCI, and recently purchased a 2019 Tundra for R&D so we can show the Tundra community some love with new products you have been asking for!

Most of you are probably familiar with RCI, but what you might not know is that over the last year we expanded to a brand new manufacturing facility in Loveland, Colorado. We brought 100% of our manufacturing processes in-house including powder-coating which allowed us to take full control of our QC and lead times, which are now along the lines of 1-5 business days on majority of orders. Long story short, we have been gearing up and now we are getting anxious to launch some of our long overdue Tundra projects!

Here is a preview, let us know what you think!

Tundra 18" tall bed rack (we sell this same one in 12" height as well, and we are coming out with a whole array of accessories for them too!)

This is the exact same rack installed on our Tacoma, and demonstrates a few of the many accessories we make for it.

Hi-lift Mount for your accessory bed track. These are available on our website as of last week!

Tundra Rock Sliders!!! Similar concept as our incredibly popular Tacoma and 4Runner sliders but built to handle the extra size and weight of this beast! Still in Pre-production phase but will be launching within the month.

For sliders from what i read a lot of ppl prefer coverage from wheel to wheel not just under the cab. Either then that looks good

I agree that's why a lot of folks go custom.

Is the rack tall enough to mount a hard shell RTT that extends over the cab?

On the Tundra it is going to be about 4-5" below cab height give or take. You can easily space it up a few inches if you are running a hardshell tent. Cosmetically, and for most uses we preferred this rack height on the truck vs being full cab height.

$75 for a pair of mounts (you need one pair for mounting one bike). Includes both mounts, a tire tray, tire strap, and all hardware. All you will need is a fork hitch, and there are many good options that will bolt right on to our mounts, and can be found on our website. Fork hitches cost between $20-30.

Thanks for the feedback! We go both ways on this, on the one hand sliders look a lot better if they don't go wheel to wheel because the body lines change meaning you have to make some goofy cuts on the main tube to prevent rubbing on the body. Also, the bed of the truck moves independently from the cab so there is a lot more potential for the flexing into the slider. In any case, we are still in prototype phase on the sliders and trying to come up with the best balance of function and aesthetics.

I was driving east on 76 (near philly) and saw a tundra with one of these racks with a ladder rack accessory. And the amount of rust around the corner of the brackets and slots was we’re surprising.

My RCI skids have been doing their job. At some point I may have to replace them 'cause they're getting hammered, far better than the truck taking all that abuse.
Did I hear mention there's a new gas tank skid for the 38 gal flavor? Gotta check that out.

You’re furious that a company was improving its product, didn’t tell the public, and sold their existing inventory???

Buy nothing today, save your money, and wait for those upgraded versions!!!!!

We haven’t made any notable changes to any of the Tundra skid plates you purchased since September of 2016, can you send me a picture of what you are referring to? (We did make the front skid one piece but that was for manufacturing purposes not functionality)

That said we do constantly seek to improve our designs so if something can be done better we are going to try!

As for the two bolts, there was a temporary shortage on the zinc plated ones so we had to use a different supplier for a short run. We’d be happy to swap you out for $.50 worth of new bolts now that they are available again ;)

We actually build every product in large production runs (we keep almost $1M in inventory). Though we do still run out of certain products from time to time causing a short lead time.

Ok, I’ll bite. So you’re saying they should have said, “No, we won’t be accepting any money or business until we have fully released our upgrades”

Think I get it now. I’ve got my pitchfork and torch around here somewhere. I’m in!!

We added bolt protection to the existing skid plate per customer request. That will be standard on the 38gal moving forward. Will post pics of that and some AWESOME new things early this week. Very excited about what’s coming for you Tundra guys and gals ;)

why not? This is a pretty specific community/consumers. If the changes were that close to when the items were purchased (and I bet we both purchased during the black Friday sale which incidentally wasn't received for MANY weeks - ehem January), why wouldn't you? This isn't Nike or some other massive conglomerate. A simple announcement of upcoming changes can give or take away business. For example, they didn't have the 18" rack when I was looking, so they lost that business. Had that info been up - that new ones were coming - I would have held off and got theirs coz RCI products are quality.

Not necessarily at all . I've been to the Loveland facility and there is plenty of product in various stages including finished product.
