I'm excited that I will be a truck owner soon. I was really indecisive with the engine as I'm trying to save as much money as possible. Won't be hauling anything big or heavy . Will be using the bed mainly to carry light stuffs for the family on road trips. Thoughts

I'd still say get the 5.7L. I barely pull anything either, but I'd much rather have the ability if I need it than need and not have it.

I was debating as well when I bought mine in 2014. I went with the 5.7 and have no regrets... ( you can never have too much horsepower, right? ). I get anywhere from 13-15 MPG combined in town and freeway driving... See the recent thread on fuel mileage from a couple of days ago. I don't know what the 4.6s are getting for MPG. AND... What's the price difference??? Is a ton of $$$?

I got the 5.7 acording to stickers there was only one mpg difference. I would get the 5.7

If you want a Tundra, my pick is the 5.7.

I have the 5.7 and have no regrets, I doubt you would either.

If MPG is an issue, neither the 4.6 or the 5.7 are great options, a different manufacturer is a better bet.

    Still rolling stock baby....
5.7 I made the mistake of getting a 4.6 in a 2013, I liked the truck just not the engine, Don't get me wrong it ran great, for just cruising down the highway there was plenty of power. But it lacked that get up and go when I put my foot into it. I was never really happy with it, traded it off for a 5.7, getting the same mileage and have power to spare. On my 3rd tundra now LOL I need to stop....

If you've decided on Tundra 5.7 is the only way to fly. First time you step on it and it puts you in the back of your seat strait stock you will be thanking yourself. Good luck brother

5.7. It's more than a bigger engine. Getting the 5.7 also gets you:
-A heavy duty alternator and battery
    -4.30 rear axle
    -Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
    -Transmission fluid temperature gauge
    -Supplemental engine oil cooler
    -Supplemental transmission cooler
    -Larger ring gear
    -Larger available fuel tank
-A sweet emblem on the side that is the equivalent of showing off your large man-bulge.

5.7L. If the Tundra came with an 8.0L, I'd still get it. Although it does sound like my previous 09 Taco with the 2.7L 4 banger with manual tranny might be better than the new Taco V-6 "power" plant w/auto. Dang.......

4.6L Emblem is so lame..............I would de-badge that emblem in a heart beat and replace it with a Hellcat emblem.

I don't think I saw one post about the inferior option....

Update. Honestly if you are tight on budget try going for an SR or SR5, double cab, non TRD...etc. If hauling family and hear I think the double cab had sufficient room...hence why I chose that.

5.7L, no brainer! Only a few hundreds more but u get more stocked: tow, trailer brakes (that don't work but u won't know! Lol), engine and transmission cooler, 1mpg difference. Also, if u ever decide to sale it would have better value.

Would u rather date a girl with A cups or C cups?
