Product Description

Cleaner Oil Changes- This tool fits Toyota 2.0L to 5.7L engines that use the cartridge style oil filter system. It makes the oil change process much cleaner by draining the filter housing prior to removal preventing oil spills. Avoid The Mess- Simply screw the tool into the drain valve on the oil filter housing, then tighten the knurled nut to drain the housing. Once the housing is drained it can be removed to replace the filter without the usual mess. High Quality Construction- This drain tool will provide years of service thanks to it's heavy duty construction. The 3 piece all metal body connects to a 30” long silicone drain hose that allows you to direct the oil into your oil disposal container. How It Works Step 1: Remove the 3/8" drive metal plug from the bottom of the oil filter housing to expose the drain valve. Step 2:ÂMake sure the knurled nut is backed off all the way (towards the silicone hose) Step 3: Thread the oil drain tool into the threaded port that was exposed by removing the plug. Step 4: Direct the end of the drain hose into your oil drain pan or container. Step 5: Tighten the knurled portion of the tool which activates the spring loaded valve inside the oil filter housing. Step 6:ÂOnce the housing is drained remove the tool and reinstall the metal drain valve plug. Amazing! Wish I had it sooner!
I finally got my first chance to use this drain tool. After multiple times of spilling a bunch of oil from the filter, and also getting the adapter stuck in the end of the oil filter housing a number of times, I had no spilled oil from the filter. And once I install my new fumoto drain, draining from the oil pan will be simpler too! I only wish they gave a little bit more instructions on how to use it as I didn't realize you just thread the textured piece into the hex nut until I did it on accident.

This works very nice. The fitting is perfect. The build quality is also good. Makes draining so much easier than the cheap throw away plastics that comes with the filter package. The tube is rubber, not plastic, which is also very nice. The rubber tube also clears easier too. When I'm done, I hang it with the tube down and place a paper towel below it for the remaining oil to drain onto. It's a nice product for the diy.

I thought the price was a little high but this one has a decent piece of tubing that is flexible and is set up to be installed and removed by hand. Works awesome. So much better than those push in things that come with the filter, that let the oil run down your arm every time. This just screw it in to the housing, then tighten the knob slowly till the oil comes out. Then reverse to remove.

I used this on my 2017 Tacoma when I changed the oil. It made the whole process so much easier and less messy. Without this tool the oil would leak out and get everywhere when draining the oil filter compartment, but with this you screw it in and release the oil when ready so no mess. The included plastic adapter with the oil filter worked but oil went everywhere. Now I dread changing oil like before.

This tool works well and avoids an otherwise messy job -- IF you shorten the drain hose so that it just reaches the drain pan. If you try to use the tool with the full-length hose out of the box, there isn't enough pressure to overcome the "leg" of oil that will back up in the hose. In that case, you end up with an incompletely drained filter housing and a hose full of oil -- and a mess. Just cut the hose to the minimum length needed to reach your target pan. Recommended as the way to deal with Toyota's annoying oil filter change process.
